Did you know that small and medium-sized businesses are the backbone of the Canadian economy, representing the vast majority of business? According to Statistics Canada, 75 per cent of all businesses employ fewer than five employees and 95 per cent employ fewer than 50. The sector contributes 80 per cent of all new jobs to the economy and generates roughly 43 per cent of Canada's economic output. So, if you're a small or medium-sized business owner, know that you're in good company.

I know from first-hand experience how difficult it can be to get the capital to grow your business. I'm also a small business owner. In addition, I've worked in lending and I have investments in private companies.
